AI math grader · Algebra through Pre-Calculus

AI math grading that tells you why they missed it.

Upload a class set. Grade Sight reads the worked steps, sorts every mistake into execution, concept, or strategy, and shows you what your section actually needs reteaching on.

Algebra II · Unit 4 Quiz10 / 15
1. Solve for x
3(x − 4) = 18
3x − 12 = 18
3x = 30
x = 10 ✓
2. Solve for x
−2(x + 5) = 8
−2x + 10− 10 = 8
−2x + 10 = 8
−2x = −2
x = 1 ✗
Sign error
Distributed −2 as +10 instead of −10. Third time this month.
3. Factor completely
x² − 9x + 20
(x − 4)(x − 5) ✓

The difference

Every grader tells you the answer was wrong. The useful question is which kind of wrong.

A student who flips a sign and a student who does not understand distribution get the same red mark and need completely different responses from you. Grade Sight separates them.

  • 01

    Execution

They know how to do it. A sign flipped, a term got copied wrong, a step got skipped. Practice fixes this — reteaching does not.

  • 02

    Concept

They do not have the idea yet. The same misunderstanding shows up on problems that look nothing alike. This is the one worth your class time.

  • 03

    Strategy

They get there, but the approach is fragile. No checking, no second method when the first stalls. Grade Sight also tracks how sure the student was — confidence that does not match the work is its own signal.

How it works

Three steps, and the third one is the point.

  1. 01

    Upload the class set.

Photograph or scan the tests — handwritten is the point, not a workaround. Multi-page assessments upload as one.

  2. 02

Read the diagnosis, change what you disagree with.

Every wrong answer gets a category and a short note on what actually went wrong. Every one of them is editable. Grade Sight does not overrule your judgment, and it does not pretend to.

  3. 03

    Act on the pattern.

See what is spreading across the section, print a practice sheet aimed at exactly that error, or hand a student a strategy card they will actually keep.

Across the year

One test is a bad day. Six tests is a pattern.

Grade Sight tracks each student's errors across every assessment you upload, so you can tell a rough week apart from a gap that is not closing on its own — and see it while there is still term left to do something about it.

The Negative Check

Before you move on, ask one thing.

“If the number in front was negative, did the sign of everything after it flip?”

Print. Tape it to the desk.
Use it for two weeks.
What the student gets

Something short enough that they actually use it.

When a pattern shows up more than once, Grade Sight writes a strategy card — sometimes a single sentence — aimed at that specific habit. Print it, hand it over, move on.

What you get

Grade a class set without losing the signal.

  • Class-wide pattern view. See which mistakes are showing up across the whole section, not just the student you noticed at lunch. When sign errors are spreading, you know before the unit test.
  • Grading that explains itself. A category and a reason on every wrong answer — execution, concept, or strategy. Correct or override anything.
  • Longitudinal view per student. Track who is resolving what and who is stuck. Old weaknesses fading, you will see it. Same error in the third unit running, you will see that too.
  • Strategy cards students keep. When a pattern shows up, Grade Sight writes a short, memorable card the student can tape inside a binder. Not a worksheet. Not an intervention plan.
  • Printable targeted practice. When a pattern hits a cluster of students, generate a one-page sheet aimed at that error. Print, hand out, done.
  • Built for math, not adapted to it. Algebra I through Pre-Calculus, including Geometry and Trigonometry. It reads the work, not just the final answer.

Questions teachers ask

Does it read handwriting?

Yes — that is the normal case, not an edge case. Photograph the page with your phone. Grade Sight reads the worked steps, not only the boxed answer, which is what makes the diagnosis possible at all.

What if I disagree with a diagnosis?

Change it. Every category and every note is editable, and your correction is what the student and the class view use from then on. Grade Sight is a first pass that shows its reasoning, not a verdict.

Do I need an answer key?

No, though you can upload one. Without a key Grade Sight works the problems itself; with one it grades against yours, which is the better choice when your rubric awards partial credit in a particular way.

How many assessments can I run?

As many as you want. Grade Sight does not meter uploads, submissions, or pages — a heavy grading week costs the same as a quiet one.

What happens to my students' work?

It stays on US servers, it is not sold, and it is not used for advertising. You can export a student's data or delete it from your settings. Grade Sight does not ask for a school, a district, a student ID, or an address, so none of that exists to leak.

Grade one test and see what it finds.

Take a quiz you already graded, upload it, and check the diagnosis against what you know about that student. That is the whole evaluation.
